This is a relatively new facility that was built after the collapse of the USSR. The monastery became the first of its kind in the Melitopol and Zaporozhye dioceses.
Initially, the monastery was organized in the village of Terpenye, where the viceroy hieromonk Tikhon served. At that time, several people lived within the walls of the monastery. But after the transfer of the object to the territory of Melitopol, the brethren were significantly expanded.
The first tonsure was performed on the day of memory of Sava the Sanctified, whose name the monastery bears.
Already in our time, new buildings were added to the first building, including a church. The new three-altar temple was consecrated in 2005. And after another 2 years, a baptismal church was built.
A little later, a hotel for pilgrims appeared on the territory of the monastery, as well as an educational building of a Sunday school, which today is considered the largest in Melitopol. Another important object of the monastery complex is the center for helping people suffering from all kinds of addictions.

Lovers of nature and antiquity should visit the Kamennaya Mogila, which is a sandy massif-outlier, which has been rising here since ancient times, when the waters of the father of the Black and Azov Seas, the Sarmatian Sea, were still splashing on these territories.

The dimensions of the hill reach about 240 * 160 m. And the height of the pile of boulders is 12 m. The total area of ​​the object is about 30 thousand m2.
The object is located in the valley of the Molochnaya river, near the village of Mirny, belonging to the Melitopol region. Ancient people, traces of which were found in these places, used the hill as a sanctuary. It is here that archaeologists have discovered petroglyphs. Experts say that this is the only sandstone of this type found on the territory of the Azov-Black Sea depression. Along with the accumulation of boulders, geoformation has many passages and grottoes.
This place was first mentioned in the 18th century. It was here that Suvorov's guard post stood during the Russian-Turkish war. And as an object of research, Stone Grave acted in the first half of the 19th century. Under the leadership of the scientist Veselovsky, excavations were carried out here. The efforts of scientists were not successful. No treasures or ancient graves were found here. However, at the end of the last century, a historical and archaeological museum-reserve was created here, which anyone can visit.
