Web Cam broadcast Station Square in the city of Ussuriysk, Primorsky Krai. Ussuriysk is one of the main cities of the Primorsk territory, the second in importance and population of the regional city after Vladivostok. The modern name of the city of Ussuriisk appeared only in the fifties of the twentieth century, before more than twenty years the settlement was called Voroshilov. It should be noted that initially the settlement was called Nikol'skoye, it was founded by immigrants from the southern provinces of the Russian Empire at the beginning of the second half of the nineteenth century, in 1866. A small settlement was located to the South of Vladivostok, on the way to the border areas of Korea and China.
The first settlers chose the area for the establishment of a new settlement in the Far East. First, the area is distinguished by an abundance of fertile land, rich in flora and fauna. Secondly, the area was characterized by a rather convenient geographical location and proximity to the borders of neighboring States. But, it took many years until settlers from the European part of Russia was able to fully explore these distant lands. The fact that the local climate differed by their harsh manners and unpredictability.
Historical data show that the first is based in the village of 58 families who lived in this settlement since the beginning of the sixties of the nineteenth century. Despite early difficulties, the great fire, and attacks the bandits, the village did not die, but rather rebuilt and became even more actively developed. This fact primarily was due to the fact that the village because of its location was selected by the center for military administration and one of the most important military points in the region. The location of a large number of military forces stimulated the construction of roads, bridges, and ferries in the area. It can be noted that the first road which connected Vladivostok with a new settlement was built by the military.
By the end of the nineteenth century, the future city of Ussuriysk significantly increased, there were new streets. The number of population and the number of troops also increased, so began to actively develop the infrastructure of the town. First of all, in the village dried up all the streets, a major breakthrough in the ditch along the village. Later the city opened the first school and first hospital, which had 50 beds.
The construction of the TRANS-Siberian railway, which began in the nineties of the nineteenth century, significantly influenced the subsequent history of St. Nicholas. Off-highway began to appear railway workshops, which, in turn, developed into small towns. Large railway largely contributed to the strengthening of industrial and trade activities of the whole region, and therefore the village Nikolsky. Archival evidence suggests that a military settlement in its trade and industrial development conceded only one more major city of the region of Vladivostok.
In 1898, when the population exceeded 10,000 people, the village of Nikolskoye was converted into a town by the decree of Emperor Nicholas 2. Municipal government was granted greater powers and the right to self-government.
The first power station supplying electricity to industrial facilities, shops, and some private houses were built in 1909. In 1917, the city's population of about 40 thousand people, among all the industrial enterprises was the largest sugar plant and oil and fat plant.
During the reign of the Soviet government has most actively developed agriculture and enterprises aimed at recycling of its products.
For the second half of the twentieth century, Ussuriysk became the historical and administrative center of Primorsky Krai. To date, the city has cinemas, theatres, hotel, circus, a network of libraries.
