Komarova street. It is known that originally the street was called Fair Boulevard. Most likely it is a name given due to the projected Fairgrounds, which was planned, but never built. Street to relate to the ancient streets of the city can be seen on the plan of the city for 1913. Later the street was renamed and is now known as the street Komarova. The date of the rename is unknown. The street was named in honor of astronaut, engineer-Colonel, twice Hero of the Soviet Union - Vladimir Mikhailovich Komarov.
His first space flight of Vladimir Komarov made 12 Oct - 13 Oct 1964 aboard the space ship Voskhod with cosmonauts Konstantin Feoktistov and Boris Yegorov. It was the world's first multi-seater spacecraft.
For the first time in history, the crew was flying without spacesuits and were first applied to the soft landing system. The total flight duration was 24 hours 17 minutes, during which time the ship 16 times circled the globe. For the successful execution of flight Vladimir Komarov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, awarded the order of Lenin and Medal "Gold Star". Soon he was awarded the qualification of "Cosmonaut 3rd class" and 23 January 1965 he was appointed an instructor-cosmonaut in the cosmonaut group, preparing the programmes of the Ministry of defense. In September 1965 he was included in the group preparing for the flight program "Soyuz". In August 1966 it was decided that Vladimir Komarov is the pilot of the "Soyuz-1". This flight April 23 - April 24, 1967, proved fatal: Vladimir Komarov was killed at the end of the flight program when during the descent to Earth was released the main parachute of the descent module. Straps reserve parachute had twisted due to the rotation of the lander. At high speed, the lander crashed into the ground in the desert in Adamovsky district of Orenburg region and caught fire. The unit was completely destroyed in the collision with the ground. On the death of Komarov V. M. erected a memorial complex.
For heroism, courage, and bravery shown during the realization of the flight, Vladimir Komarov was awarded the second medal "Gold Star" (posthumously). The length of the street is up to 2000 meters.
