Ulitsa Lenina, perhaps, most fully reflecting all the main stages of development of our city. Her appearance began to be formed since 1880-ies, when, after the formation of the city Nikolsk-Ussuriysky became possible to purchase land. Then she was called in Khabarovsk, in honor of the famous Russian Explorer Yerofei Pavlovich Habarova. The initial project was supposed to build stone houses here, but it was under force not to all landowners and (along with the sturdy brick buildings) appeared and wooden houses. To this time belongs a remarkable architectural monument – the building of one of the first hotels (now Lenina 28), built by S. I. Chulkova, one of the prominent merchants of St. Nicholas. Along with her then there of the hotel "Victoria", "Europe", "Nikolsk-Ussuriisk" and "people". In the beginning of the street (Khabarovsk 2) was located the medical establishment – City emergency room. In 1914 Korkeshko has built a vast house, which now houses a kindergarten. From 1934 to 1938 in the house lived the legendary hero of Volochaevka and Spassk, a large military commander, Deputy V. K. Blucher-Jacob Z. Pocus. Khabarovsk (Lenin street) was known in the city for his photographic institutions. Probably the most famous photographer was S. M. Budagyan (building No. 33). Here he opened a photo lab. In 1911, the city Council has allocated land for the construction of a brick building fire station with watch tower, which was built in 1914. This building (Lenin 143), despite his important technical purpose, and is today an architectural ornament of the city. Was on the street and small businesses: Fedorenko mechanical workshop, cigarette factory At hin Gong XI, warehouses, "Livonia", soap factory Olefirenko (on the Northern edge). Shops on the street were few; 8 of them were engaged in wine-grocery trade (in the city in the period of such institutions was 62). But were the bookstore "the pioneer" (one of three that were located in the city). While walking down the street in Khabarovsk it was possible to go to the bakery "New" and visit the "Illusion" of Nikitin. The southern outskirts of the modern Lenin street has kept the most prestigious pre-revolutionary buildings. This is serene and homely part of it, a real old town, where ussurica perceives the past of the Russian Empire.
