This time the key point was convenience and maximum distance between customers. At the same time, it was necessary to preserve the former passenger capacity of the Airbuses. The profitability of flights is one of the most important factors in the development of airlines. And, if the constructive development reduces this figure, it is unlikely that the owner will operate a pre-loss fleet of aircraft.
It is easy to guess that the main effort of the designers was directed to the premium segments of the salon. One of them, Jaffrey Neal, announced a fundamentally new seating arrangement for air travel. His idea received no less original and attractive name, accurately reflecting the essence of the invention. In two words: zephyrSeat ("marshmallow seat"), you can easily guess what exactly Jaffrey wants to offer to the aviation market.
It's only been two years from the idea to the design layout. The designer pushed back against the existing designs of bus salons, where bunk beds have long been the place to be. After assessing the free space to the upper luggage shelves, Neil calculated that the distance from the floor to the second tier of passengers would be only 135 cm. This height will not be uncomfortable for customers. And the location for many hours of flights will be significant, more precisely - twice as much.
It is hoped that the safety tests will be successful, and soon it will be possible to fly with increased comfort.
