What souvenirs are traditionally brought from Greece

In a recent internet poll, 1,300 respondents who have visited Greece 10 times or more participated. The tourists talked about what goods they bought as a souvenir of their vacation.

Greek herbs and spices became the leader of the rating. About 26% of the respondents bought them for further use in their home kitchen. The most popular are oregano, thyme, basil and mint. Slightly less in demand are local cinnamon and cloves.

In second place among the most popular souvenirs is olive oil (15% of respondents). It is bought in addition to the first place souvenirs. The most delicious variety of oil is Extra Virgin in aluminum cans with a volume of 1-1.5 liters. The tourists surveyed noted that beautiful packaging design is as important as the quality of the content.

14% of respondents voted for Greek drinks, including liqueurs. Of these, 6% of tourists preferred Metax, and 5% preferred local wine and beer. Other preferred drinks include Kumquat, Tentura, Mastiha.

Despite the banality, fridge magnets are still popular with tourists. About 13% of travelers voted for this Greek souvenir.

In last place are the annual calendars. About 4% of respondents purchased them to create a Greek atmosphere in their home.
