Continuing the selection of the most beautiful places and sights of New York, it is worth noting the valley of Wai-O-Tapu, which is famous for its underground hydrothermal springs. It creates a feeling that an unprecedented underground entity constantly wants to escape to the surface. There are special paths on the territory of the reserve, which are designed to make the movement of tourists safe. But every moment here can form new craters, so it is necessary to be careful and look carefully at your feet.
The oldest state reserve is Tongariro National Park, which is located in the central part of the North Island. There are several contradictory species here. On the one hand - green oases, covered with lush vegetation. On the other hand, there is an endless scorched plain with volcanoes visible in the distance. One of them became a prototype of the famous Fatal Mountain in the film "Lord of the Rings." It is called Ngauruhoe and it was topped by the All-Seeing Glaswegn that was watched by moviegoers throughout all three parts.
Cape Reinga is also a notable place. Ancient Aborigines called it "the place of jump", believing that after the death of a man his soul jumps into the abyss, crashing on the local shores. This is where the cold Tasman Sea merges with the warm pacific. Not far from here stretches a bay surrounded by pink sand. This place is still considered sacred among the local population, so it is necessary to observe silence and refrain from picnics.
The highlight of the North Island is the beach of Hot Springs. Here you can treat yourself to a real natural spa. But it will have to dig a small hole in the form of a bath, which is quickly filled with boiling water. It is better to choose a place next to the ocean, so that the hot water from the spring is mixed with cold ocean waves.
The final place in our TOP, but not the last one that can be seen and amazed in New zealand - is the Aoraki National Park, stretching among the Southern Alps. Almost 40% of its territory is covered by glaciers. It is here that future conquerors of Everest conduct their training. And it is here that you can find more than 300 species of plants and 40 species of birds.
