Perugia webcam broadcasts a view of Santa Maria della Consolasione in real time.
The lens captures the façade of the pilgrimage church of Santa Maria della Consoliatione. It is located in the small town of Todi. It is located south of Perugia on a hill between two peaks. The central square of this city is one of the most beautiful in Umbria.
Perugia, whose webcams are available on the site, is not very crowded with tourists.
That is why this city is a must to visit, because here you can leisurely walk along the authentic streets, admire the sights and look into museums.
One of the famous places is the Palazzo de Priori. It is the seat of the municipality of Perugia, the National Gallery of Umbria and two main medieval guilds: Nobile Collegio della Mercanzia and Nobile Collegio del Cambio.
It was built in several stages. The first began in 1293 and ended in 1297. If you look at the palace from the Fourth of November Square, it will be the left side. It was built by the architects Jacopo di Servadio and Giovannello di Benvenuto. It is characterized by a succession of tricolor windows and an imposing gothic portal that leads to the Sala dei Notari. The right side was built later. This happened around 1335. It was erected on the site of the church of San Severo di Piazza and decorated with a portico with three arches.
Heavily altered during papal rule, the palace was rebuilt in 1860. In 1902, a "fan staircase" was added that leads to Sala dei Notari and Sala della Vaccara. It replaced the previous two-story staircase.
Also above the portal are bronze copies of the Perugian griffin and the Guelph lion. From the brackets of the main façade, chains still hang from the gates of Siena after the Battle of Torrita in 1358.
In the center of Perugia, whose webcams allow you to enjoy the beauties of cities online, there is a beautiful Fountain Maggiore.
It was built between 1278 and 1280. The structure consists of two overlapping concentric pools, decorated with 50 bas-reliefs and 24 statues. On the lower pool there is a bas-relief with the months of the year with the signs of the zodiac, scenes from the Bible and the history of Rome. The upper one consists of twenty-four slabs separated by statues representing allegorical, sacred and historical figures. The tanks are surmounted by a bronze chalice adorned with a group of three nymphs representing the three theological virtues (Faith, Hope, Mercy).
Perugia is a unique city. You can enjoy its atmosphere in real time, but it's still better to come here live.
