As the name suggests, the village of Ordzhonikidze began its existence since the times of the USSR. Although these territories have been inhabited before. So, for example, in the Middle Ages, the village was called Provato. The Genoese port was located here. By the way, the historical name was assigned to the bay in which the village is located.
In the XX century, the territory of the settlement was divided into two parts - Provalnoye and Dvuyakorny farm. The latter later turned into a military town.
Since 1911, an enterprise specializing in testing naval weapons was founded in the village. In 1937 a road was built leading from the turn to Koktebel to the new plant. And in 1939, next to a large enterprise, the construction of a workers' settlement began. At the same time, a school and a kindergarten were opened here, and the village itself was named Bubnovka.
With the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, these territories were occupied by fascist troops. The test plant was evacuated to Kaspiysk, and the bay near Bubnovka was used by the Germans as a transshipment point. The settlement was liberated only in 1944.
The settlement received its modern name after the Victory, and was closed for a long time. Several military factories were located here, engaged in research work, the development of new solutions, tests and experiments in the production of equipment and weapons.
As a resort, the village began to develop with the collapse of the USSR. Many objects of tourist infrastructure were built here - catering establishments, sanatoriums, hotels. Today there is everything for a comfortable stay, both alone and as part of a youth company or family.
