As archeological studies have shown, the first settlements appeared here before our era, around 2000. At the same time, full-fledged settlements began to form in 800-1100 years. Then fortresses appeared on the shore of Lake Ladoga. In 1323 the territory became part of the Russian state. In 1500, the village of Yakkima was formed, in which about 168 families lived. Fleeing from the raids of the Swedes, people fled to monasteries, so at some point only 6 families lived in the village. In 1617 this territory became part of the Kingdom of Sweden. At the same time, almost 100 years later, during the Northern War, these territories were recaptured by the Russian Empire. Although from the 19th century the lands were part of the Grand Duchy of the Finnish Russian Empire.

During this period, more than 70% of former residents returned to their homes. When the settlement and its surroundings again became part of the USSR, the Finns again left their homes.
