Polyarnye Zori is a town in the Murmansk region, situated on the banks of the Niva river, 224 kilometers South from the regional center. The village square is 3.6 square kilometers.
In 1968 on the site of the modern city was founded a village for the builders of the Kola NPP.
At the end of 1973 by the decision of Murmansk regional Executive Committee, the settlement was transformed into a working village.
In the 1970-ies in the village built a House of Culture, dvoryanchikova bridge with a regulating device, shopping center, post, point, cultural-a sports complex, an apartment building.
In 1980, the city had commissioned a new PBX for 1000 numbers.
In April 1991, by decree of the authorities of the work settlement of Polyarnye Zori obtained a status of a city.
In 2000, the city began construction of the Ice Palace for 600 spectators.
