Grozny, whose webcams are available online on this site, is a young city by historical standards, but magnificent in its appearance.
Its chronicle dates back to the foundation of the Khan-Kale fortress at the beginning of the 19th century. And today the capital of the Chechen Republic is able to win the hearts of even seasoned travelers. The city has built many amazing architectural objects. The unique cultural heritage of the Chechen people is also kept here.
The Heart of Chechnya Mosque, which bears the name of Akhmat Kadyrov, was built on a breathtaking scale in Grozny.
The object was erected already in our century, but its architectural style absorbed the best traditions, with which the main Turkish mosque Sultanahmet was built. In addition, the "Heart of Chechnya" is one of the largest mosques on the planet.
The most expensive materials were used for the construction of the mosque. The interiors are lined with white marble, which was specially brought from Turkey. Its luxurious texture is organically complemented by wall paintings made by the best Turkish masters using a technology that allows images to remain in their original form for a long time.
The premises of the mosque are illuminated by 36 chandeliers made of bronze, gold and sparkling Swarovski crystals. And the height of the minarets reaches more than 60 meters.
The territory occupying 14 hectares adjoins the main building. Near the mosque is the university. Kunta-Haji and the building of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims.
It is noteworthy that along with the Muslim temple, there are also Orthodox objects in Grozny. So, on one of the streets of the city is the temple of the Archangel Michael. It was built back in the 19th century. However, the history of the city, full of military events, led to significant destruction, which did not bypass the building of the temple. Multiple reconstructions of the shrine have led to significant modifications. From the original parts of the building, the foundation and the basement, where services were held during the hostilities, have survived to this day. Nevertheless, the temple has a well-groomed appearance and is active. And therefore, worthy of attention.
For those who have not yet had a chance to visit the Chechen Republic, Grozny's webcams will open up new horizons for virtual travel.
