Where foreigners flee from megacities: 10 most beautiful villages

The British Price Comparison Agency has shared the top ten most popular and beautiful villages in the world to escape from the metropolitan areas. The list is headed by the Greek village of Oia, which is located on the island of Santorini. It impresses with its snow-white architecture with smooth, rounded lines. An interesting fact is that only white, blue and ocher are used here in the decoration of houses.
The second and third places with a small gap, respectively, are contested by Halong Bay in Vietnam and the city of Goreme in Turkey. The bay is made up of majestic limestone pillars and tiny islands of forest that rise from the emerald waters of the Gulf of Tonkin. And there is no need to say anything about Goreme - did you see these beautiful balloons rising into the sky at dawn in Cappadocia? So all this beauty is concentrated in this city.
In fourth place was the fabulous town of Hallstatt in Austria. It is located on the shore of a lake at the foot of the mountains. Everything here seems so small, as if there are gingerbread houses in front of your eyes.
The fifth and sixth positions were taken by places in one of the distant parts of the world - Mission Beach in Australia and Wanaka in New Zealand. The first is, in fact, a tropical paradise with palm trees, coconuts, white sand and endless sea. Wanaka, on the other hand, is a popular ski resort. These landscapes are worth taking so long to get to.
The small fishing village of Vernazza came in seventh place. If you want to feel the atmosphere of resort Italy, then you need to go exactly here. Bright houses, rocky shores, vineyards, olive trees and the most delicious pesto.
The ranking is completed by the villages of Shirakawa-Go in Japan, Tobermory on the Isle of Mull in Scotland and Furnas in the Azores (Portugal). Shirakawa-Go is famous for its traditional Japanese houses "gassho-zukuri", which fit very organically into the forest landscape. Tobermory is a small village with brightly colored houses, and the town of Furnas is popular for its thermal springs, as it is located in the valley of an extinct volcano.
