Uglich webcam offers a view of the picturesque Assumption Square.
The lens covers a spacious area paved with colored patterns. In the foreground, car traffic is visible along Yaroslavskaya Street. Behind you can see the smooth surface of the Stone Stream. Near the square there are several museums and a summer stage.
Uglich, whose webcams can be viewed online on this site, is one of the oldest Russian cities, which has a bright historical appearance and many attractions.
According to some reports, Uglich has been keeping his chronicle since 937. There are many ancient monasteries and temples here that can tell an amazing, and in some places - a gloomy story. Here you can also find many unique museums on a variety of topics, where they are introduced in detail to how the city lived and how it is developing now.
The real calling card is the Kremlin in Uglich.
It was built in the middle of the 10th century, when, according to some historians, the city arose. Powerful walls were erected over the banks of the Volga and were repeatedly attacked. Only fragments of the moat encircling the fortress have survived to our times. However, many unique monuments of architecture, culture and history have been preserved inside the complex. All of them were included in a single complex.
Among the most outstanding monuments of the Uglich Kremlin is the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord. It appeared much later than the fortress and is a magnificent example of Yaroslavl cult architecture of the 17th century. Thanks to the efforts of restorers, the shrine to this day looks well-groomed and very elegant. Near the main building there is a high bell tower with a clock.
Inside the temple, you can admire the skillful frescoes that were created at the beginning of the century before last. They illustrate scenes from the New Testament. No less magnificent is the large iconostasis with icons from the 17th-19th centuries.
Among the important objects of the Kremlin complex, it is worth noting the Chambers of the Uglich princes. This is a stunning example of the architecture of the Russian Middle Ages, with unique carved facades, which is surrounded by no less amazing nature. The princely residence resembling a tower was built in the 16th century. However, due to the Polish-Lithuanian invasion, it was badly damaged. Thanks to the surviving sketches, the building was restored to its original form. Inside the chambers today there is a rich exposition, including clothes, weapons, utensils, decor and furniture.
For those who are not yet planning a trip to these parts, it is recommended to watch Uglich webcams online.
