Live webcam with a view of the regulated intersection in Sharya (Kostroma region, Russia).
This area of the city is called "Watermelon Hill". The lens captures car traffic and adjacent sidewalks, houses, two-story buildings. The broadcast is broadcast in real time.
Sharya, whose webcams can be viewed on this site, is a cozy city, spread out in the lowlands of the Vetluga River.
It was founded as a station settlement on the Vyatka-Vologda railway, which was built here at the beginning of the 20th century. The road was built with government funds. The construction of the locomotive depot began in 1903. And three years later, the line was put into operation. Work on the construction of the station ended in 1907. In the same year, the station building, a water pumping station, a station school, medical institutions and residential buildings were completed. The first buildings were located on Vokzalnaya Street. But gradually the city expanded and transformed.
One of the facts of the construction of Sharya was the merciless exploitation of workers' labor.
The city even had a cemetery where builders were buried, who died from hard work and the terrible conditions in which they lived. Nowadays, warehouse enterprises are located at this place.
Today Sharya is a developed industrial center. At different times, such cultural figures as Melnikov-Pechersky, Nemirovich-Danchenko, Korolenko, Belyaev, Khomyakov and others lived and worked here.
After the collapse of the USSR, 4 Orthodox churches were built in Sharya and the St. Nicholas Cathedral was returned to believers, where until that moment the expositions of the local history museum were located. In January 1998, the temple burned down. Later, large-scale reconstruction work was carried out here and the building again began to receive parishioners.
A military-patriotic club operates at the Alekseevsky temple of Sharya. The local history museum, mentioned above, was moved to another building and today pleases visitors with an extensive exposition and exciting excursion programs.
Despite the fact that Sharya is a relatively new city, it also has its own architectural monuments.
One of them is the Lagunin estate. However, until now, only a picturesque park with an artificial pond has been preserved here. The location is located in the village of Rozhdestvenskoe. Another remarkable object is located in the village of Ivanovskoye. This is the spring of St. Barnabas, in which healing water is believed to flow.
If it is not yet possible to visit these places in person, Sharya's webcams will expand the idea of this city.
