It is crowned with onion domes - one of them is golden, while the others are made in blue. At the same time, the uniqueness of the Assumption Cathedral lies in its gilded iconostasis. This huge masterpiece, about 30 m high, was made by Khristoforov's workshop. Everything, including the carved wooden edging of the icons, was made by hand. Also, once all the walls of the religious building were decorated with frescoes, which were whitewashed under the Soviet regime. Fragments of paintings can now be seen only on one of the columns.
The Palace of Prince Oleg is also impressive. This building is spread over an area of ​​2500 sq. m. It was built in the XVII century. in the place where the prince's court was located. It is worth noting that it did not immediately acquire a modern look. Over the centuries, the palace has been repeatedly reconstructed and new buildings completed. The oldest buildings are located closer to the Nativity Cathedral. Once within the walls of the building there were bishops' chambers, fraternal cells and utility rooms. Now there is a historical museum of the Ryazan Kremlin.
