Another Phuket temple, Wat Chalong, is the most populous on the island. The complex was built in the 19th century and has a 61-meter Chedi, divided into three tiers and painted in a noble salmon pink color. It is noteworthy that this extension has appeared here already in our days.
In Chedi, 36 golden statues of Buddha have been erected, who is sitting, lying or meditating. On the topmost floor is the main relic - a particle of Buddha bone. The highlight of this complex is the green and gold nagas that adorn the railing and lotus ponds.
Whole tourist buses come here. Therefore, those who prefer to visit the temples in a quiet environment should come to Wat Chalong in the early morning.
One of the main shrines on the island is the Jui Tui temple. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century, but was originally located on Soi Romani. The building was moved here after the fire.
Later, a fireworks tower appeared on the territory of the complex, as well as a statue of the god of theater, dance and other areas of creativity.
A vegetarian festival is held on the grounds of the temple every year.
The Chinpracha House has a unique architectural appearance. It was built at the beginning of the last century and has been perfectly preserved to this day. Along with the graceful exterior, the interior of the mansion is also of interest. Here you can see antique beds with lace canopies, stunning Italian tiles, blue window shutters, vintage portraits, as well as a traditional oriental pond with golden carps in the courtyard, which clearly illustrate the life of wealthy families of a bygone era.
