The Sukhum webcam is installed on the Red Bridge, it was built in 1951.

This structure crosses the river Basla. It got its name because it is painted red. Initially, the bridge was intended to connect the soldiers' barracks located on opposite sides of the river. At the same time, the bridge became famous during the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict, becoming the first line of defense for the troops of Abkhazia.

The waterfall originates from the turbulent waters of the Shakuran mountain river, which flows from the peaks of the Tsebelda Highlands, and then descends down the Kador Gorge. There is a version that he appeared relatively recently. This happened in 1892 due to a powerful earthquake, which caused the collapse of ancient karst caves.
Shakuran waterfall has three cascades, which together form a height of 250 m. Each cascade has its own name. The largest one is called "Shakuransky", it is located at the very top. Then comes the "Medium" and below the "Bridal Veil". It is often called the most spectacular among all the Abkhazian waterfalls, because the water falls from a height of 30 m and breaks through the vegetation. All this seems to hang over people's heads.
The power of the stream depends on precipitation, but even in hot summer the waterfall does not dry up. At the foot is a lake, into which it, in fact, flows. This reservoir is quite large; tourists often swim here in the warm season. It is curious that a 10-meter stalagmite grows upward from the lake. Due to the fact that its top is rounded and the bottom is wide, the locals call it a seal.
The stalagmite appeared for a reason. Local water is rich in minerals, which began to accumulate and formed a cone-shaped "structure". It grows in size every year. Thanks to him, by the way, this is a quiet place. A stream of water collides with a stalagmite and slowly flows down it into the lake.
Although the path to this place is not the easiest, you will have to overcome steep climbs and streams, but it's worth it. Actually, like visiting Sukhum itself.
