Ternopilnear the building of regional state administration and is part of the entrance to the green heart of Ternopil - Park. Taras Shevchenko in the center of which is a monument to Stepan Bandera, however, legally, this area is separated from the Park. The monument to Stepan Bandera was built in honor of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Ukrainian nationalist leader, in 2008. Assignment area name of "Maidan named after Hero of Ukraine Stepan Bender" was initiated back in 2011 the mayor of Ternopil Sergei Nadala, almost immediately after the court decision to cancel, indicated by the decree of the President
Ukraine, giving Bender an honorary title of Hero of Ukraine. Also deputies of the city administration it was decided about the improvement of the monument and landscaping of the area. Stretching along the West coast of Ternopil lake, Shevchenko Park occupies an area of 22 Hectares. Built a Park on a floodplain of the river Seret, which twice a year – in spring and summer was filled with water. Here is the beautiful shady alleys, small Islands with poetic names, arch bridges, Playground, etc. All this makes the Park a special charm, the awesomeness and nepovtorimost. Extraordinarily beautiful is located in lake fountain, water jets which rise so high in the sky, sometimes fancied - they dance with the clouds for some incomprehensible rhythms. Very good image of the fountain in the evening, when lit illumination. On the lake runs passenger boat that bears the name of the hero-warrior, captain of the steamship – Gregory Tantsorova. The shores of the lake have beaches, equipped with equipment for rowing, water motor and sailing sports, as well as competitions in them. In the waters of the lake a wide variety of fish, which invariably in the Park attracts fishing enthusiasts. Once the current territory of the Park was divided into two parts, the oldest defensive structure encountered on these lands in the XVI century, but eventually lost its defensive importance and dismantled for material for city buildings. Today, the Park remains a green zone, are conditionally divided into two parts – North, with a fountain and two Islands and South, which is called "Pidzamche", with geometrically spaced tracks along which has a composition of modern sculptors. Park Shevchenko is a favorite among residents of the city a place for walking, romantic dates and find inspiration.
