Nearby is another canyon called Dry. There is no water here, but the walk will be no less exciting. On this route, you can climb to a height of 30 m. There are even more caves and grottoes, as well as many frozen stalactites. Rare boxwood grows in the rocks, and creepers create unusual patterns.
Another must-see place is the Ahtsu Gorge. The origin of the name has several versions and in all cases the Abkhazian word is taken as the basis. The length of the gorge is about 3 km, and the depth is 800 m. Interestingly, in 1968 there was a collapse here, which blocked the road to the mountain river. After that, a lake formed in the gorge, which disappeared after some time. Fir, beech and broad-leaved forests grow in Akhtsu. They are located close to each other, so there is a rather humid climate.
In the gorge, it is worth seeing the Kepshinskaya cave, in which they found the parking lot of Paleolithic people. Also, the road to Krasnaya Polyana runs along the gorge, which is now closed. Here you can see the monument to the soldiers of the Red Army who died during the Civil War.
It is worth allocating a couple of days to visit the Akhtsu Gorge in order to slowly enjoy and see all the places. For this, it is worth coming to Adler for a long time.
