Important railways and the Trans-Siberian Railway pass through the village. Thanks to the station, which is called Nadezhdinskaya, a settlement was formed in 1893. It was named after the engineer Vasily Nadezhdin. This happened thanks to his merits in the construction of the Ussuriysk railway. He was one of the first engineers to make major contributions to this important route of communication.
Around 1900, not far from the railway line, a village appeared, which was called Chichagovsky. It was a Cossack village, the inhabitants of which were famous for their stubbornness and could not submit to the authorities in any way. Because of this, they endured harassment from the governing bodies.
After the October Revolution, which took place in 1918, this small village was renamed Volnoe. Then, in the 1920s, two neighboring villages, Volnoe and Nadezhdinskoe, were united.
In 1937, the Nadezhdinsky District was formed, and the village became its administrative center. During the war years, the regional center was moved, but in the end it was returned to Volno-Nadezhdinskoye. At the moment, the village is the administrative center of the district.

You can watch the events taking place there by viewing the Volno-Nadezhdinskoye webcams.

The airport near the village is called Knevichi. You can get there from the village by road and rail, because it is a developed transport hub. The population is about 7000 people. The village has everything for a comfortable, calm and measured life.
The village looks quite ordinary, like any other Russian settlement. Low-rise buildings, a monument to Lenin, as well as wartime monuments. There is also a monument to the famous composer P.I. Tchaikovsky.

There is a good music school, as well as a large stadium called "Yubileiny", which is popular with local residents, all this can be seen through the webcams of Volno-Nadezhdinsky.
