This is perhaps the most famous city in the Far East. It is interesting due to its location, because it borders on China and Korea, and Japan can be reached in just a few hours.
The capital of the Far East is popular for its natural and architectural sights, and its most famous building is the Golden Bridge. Many people recognize it due to the appearance of the supports, which resemble the letter "V".
The bridge was built in 2012 on the eve of the APEC summit. The grand opening took place at the end of the summer. At that time, it did not have any name. Therefore, the authorities conducted a survey, the townspeople decided to give it the name "Golden". This is most likely due to the fact that it connects two areas that are separated by the Golden Horn.
The difference between this structure and many others is that it is almost entirely made of Russian-made materials. Thus, steel blocks were assembled at a shipyard in the city of Nakhodka. Only the guys were made by a French company.
For the first time they started talking about the construction of the bridge at the end of the 19th century. The plans could not be implemented due to the outbreak of the Russo-Japanese War, and then the First and Second World Wars. At the same time, in 1969, under Nikita Khrushchev, a plan for the development of the city was developed, which also included the bridge.
The idea of erecting such a structure came up again only in 2005. Then they prepared the project and all the documentation, which by 2007 was ready. The next year they found a contractor and construction started. It consisted of 6 stages, which lasted for 4 years.
Not far from the bridge on the Eagle's Nest hill, there is an observation deck. From here you can see in all its glory the city with the historical part, its landscapes, the bay and, of course, the bridge itself. This is one of the most popular lookouts. Here, picturesque images are obtained, thanks to the large number of ships docked in the ports. Also from here you can see the islands located in the Sea of Japan.
