The Cuneo webcam broadcasts a panoramic view of the ski resort Artesina Mondole Ski.
It is located in the Maritime Alps. Artezina is a modern ski complex with steep, breathtaking slopes and numerous mountain shelters for tourists.
Cuneo, whose webcams are available on the site, is the capital of the Piedmont region.
It is spread out on mountain peaks, among picturesque forests. It, like most Italian cities, is rich in history and ancient traditions.
One of the main attractions of the place is the Civic Tower. It stands in the historical center and rises above the city at a height of 52 m. It has a square base of about 6 m on each side, with walls 2 m thick. From the bell tower you can enjoy a beautiful view of the gentle hills and mountain peaks.
An ancient tradition says that the tower was erected after a peace treaty signed between Cuneo and Mondovi in 1317. Although this can only be a legend, because during the reign of Anjou the city never fought with Mondovi. In addition, one of the oldest documents preserved in the municipal historical archive reports that the city council was convened as early as 1240 to the sound of a civil bell.
The Ancient Statutes of Cuneo, whose webcams immerse the atmosphere of the place online, regulated the use of the municipal bell.
It also mentions the existence of a prison room, which was located on the first floor of the Tower. It had no exit to the outside and was accessible through a hatch in the ceiling.
In 1627, due to fires lit in the tower on the eve of San Giovanni, the fire devastated the town hall and spread inside the tower itself: two bells fell inside and broke. Later they were remade, and in 1730 the tower was completely renovated and received its current size and shape.
Next to the tower was the Palazzo Comunale. In 1775, the town hall was moved opposite, occupying the premises of the former School College of the Jesuit Fathers. The old Civic Palace thus became the site of municipal "low" schools, equivalent to today's elementary schools.
In 1799, the French army, which had occupied Cuneo for three years, decided to remove the city's coat of arms and inscriptions from the Tower. Instead, frescoes appeared. At the beginning of the XX century. the entrance room to the Civic Tower on the ground floor became a flower shop.
In 1945, the bell rang to celebrate the liberation of Cuneo from the Nazi invaders, the current appearance of the Tower is the result of restoration work carried out by the administration to commemorate the eighth century since the founding of the city of Cuneo, webcams allow you to walk around the city in real time.
