An online PTZ camera with sound is broadcasting from the city of Ganichesk, located on the shores of the Sea of Azov in Ukraine.
The device captures a beautiful city panorama, as well as a picturesque seascape with port structures. Thanks to the broadcast in real time and high quality, everyone can move to this cozy seaside town in seconds.
Among the historical buildings of Genichesk, whose webcams can be viewed online on this site, it is worth noting the Coastal Lighthouse located on the Utlyuk estuary.
It rises above the wild beach and is clearly visible from all parts of the city embankment.
The building has a unique location, being both on the coast and within the city. Also, its peculiarity lies in the fact that two beams from its projector are directed in the same direction, and until the 70s of the last century had a constant flow of red.
The lighthouse tower in Genichesk has a square shape and is built into a two-story building from the end of the 19th century, made of stone with a snow-white finish.
According to some reports, French engineers and builders worked on the construction of the lighthouse. And the project itself was developed by Ferdinand Wrangel, a famous researcher and distant relative of the famous "Black Baron" Wrangel, the commander of the Russian army, who terrified the enemy.
The archival reports of the Navy indicate that Admiral-General and Grand Duke K.N. The work was supervised by P. A. Samoilov, an engineer and talented builder of navigation facilities.
Work on the construction of the lighthouse in Genichesk was completed in 1883.
However, the building was practically destroyed during the Second World War. A large-scale restoration and return of the structure to operation took place in 1944. Later, the lighthouse was restored two more times. This made it possible to preserve the object in its original form and continue its use to this day.
It is noteworthy that during the restoration work, the interior of the lighthouse was also preserved, elements of which were brought from other countries. In 1977, flashing lights were added to the red spotlight emitting a constant beam, and 13 years later - a radio beacon.
Recently, the building can be accessed during an organized excursion.
You can see the lights of this ancient object, which was built almost 1.5 centuries ago, both with your own eyes, walking along the embankment, and online, if you watch Genichesk's webcams online.
