The pioneers of the area were Europeans who landed on the coast. They were sailors from Britain. The date of disembarkation is indicated as 1855; it was at this moment that a ship from England entered the bay of Garnet Bay, which today is called Nakhodka.The coastline did not arouse interest among the sailors, therefore, having been there for a while, they left it. The next year a steamer from Russia entered the bay. Fleeing from a storm at sea, the ship moored next to the mountain, which was later named Sister. When the weather conditions improved, the crew began to survey the area. So a calm bay, perfectly protected from winds and waves, was discovered. It was at that moment that it got its name-Nakhodka. This name was given to the bay by General Nikolai Muravyov-Amursky, who was a member of the crew of that very ship.
Active settlement of the area began in 1864. Convicts began to move, a year later the first native of Nakhodka was born and a merry wedding was played.
