Artem is a small town in Primorsky Krai, located on the river Kravichenko, 38 kilometers from the regional center. The village square is 506 square miles.
General information and historical facts
In the late 19th century on the site of the modern city was the village of Krolevets and Knevichi.
In 1924, with the development of a coal Deposit was established a settlement. At the same time the coal mine has received the official name "the state coal mines of Artemovsk".
In 1932 in the village began construction of the largest mine number 3-TS "far East."
In October 1938, the village was transformed into a city with the name Artem.
During the great Patriotic war, several thousand inhabitants of the city went to war with the German invaders.
In 1956 in the city was founded by the concrete factories and construction materials.
