Archyz is a resort in the mountains of Karachay-Cherkessia, the birthplace of mineral water and just breathtaking natural corner. Here the mountains of the Caucasus have softer, smoothed outlines, the air is filled with the aromas of fir and pine, and on the mountain plateaus are hundreds of lakes. Archyz is a rapidly developing center of skiing and outdoor activities. At the moment, the resort already operates two cable cars, paved tracks of varying complexity, equipped with a snow park, there is all the necessary infrastructure - rental points, service centers, cafes, where guests are offered mulled wine, hotel complexes in the Alpine style. A new "black" track and a new line of cable car will be opened by the next season.
In summer, Archyz becomes the starting point for hiking and climbing to the tops of the surrounding mountains, rafting on the Great Greenchuk, travel to the ancient Alan town, dolmens or waterfalls of Sofia. Using the cable car is already now possible to get to the hiking trails, high-altitude rope park, climbing wall, rental point of mountain bikes and segways.
Archyz is a ski resort in the North Caucasus, in Karachay-Cherkessia. The resort is located 150 km from the capital of the republic, Cherkessk, more than 1500 km from Moscow.
The archise lies in the basin, which is part of the valley of the Greater Greenchuk, on the terraces, tiers descending to the river waters. The resort is surrounded by the mountain ranges of Abishira-Ahab and Arcasar, from the south the natural boundary of the valley is the main Caucasian ridge with rocky peaks and glaciers. The average height of the mountains surrounding Archyz is 2500 meters. The highest point is Mount Prish, which reaches 3700 meters.
Archyz has a developed hydrographic network. A number of small rivers - Psysh, Sofia, Amanauz - flows into the main waterway of the resort, The Greater Greenchuk. There are 75 lakes in the vicinity of the resort - all of them are located in the highlands, at the mark above 2300 meters.
The archyse is distinguished by an amazing variety of vegetation. On the mountain slopes grow relic fir forests that once covered the entire North Caucasus. There are pine, spruce, yew and beech. Above the forests is a belt of shrubs and dwarf birch trees, followed by alpine meadows.
