The webcam, which broadcasts the upper station of the Lunar Express chairlift, was commissioned for the 2016 season and has a protective dome that covers the seats inside from rain and wind. The length of the line is 2,122 m, the cable car became the link between the tourist village of Lunar glade and the first stage of the resort of Archyz - the village of Romantic.
The capacity is 2,400 people per hour, the upper station exceeds the bottom station by 536 m, get on it in 6-15 minutes. "Moon Express" has a special device that allows to make a safe landing of children, there is also a boarding conveyor, thanks to which passengers can sit in chairs directly in the ski equipment. Since the lift was put into operation, the total capacity of the existing KD has increased significantly to 6,600 people per hour.
The construction of the resort "Arkhyz" - the launch site of the North Caucasus tourist cluster under the management of the company "North Caucasus Resorts" - has become one of the main engines of the tourism industry not only Karachay-Cherkess Republic, but also the North Caucasus as a whole. The journey from the first pillar of the cable car to the popular developing resort with good ski infrastructure took six years - disproportionately less compared to the resorts of France or Italy.
Construction of the resort "Arkhyz" from scratch began in August 2011, when the first support of the cable car was installed here, and in December 2013 the resort was put into test operation and began to receive the first tourists.
Now there are three cable cars in the resort. The Milky Way hond lift, equipped with 8-seater gondolas, is designed for 2,400 people per hour. There is also a chairlift and a children's conveyor belt.
After the commissioning of another chairlift, the "Moon Express" equipped with rain and wind shelters, reached 6,600 people per hour. The total length of the resort's pistes is about 14 km.
The resort has slopes of varying levels of difficulty - "green," "blue," "red" and even "black" - for extreme skating.
In May 2017, construction began on the north-oriented slope of the resort. Three sections of the new cable car will be gondola, it will raise tourists to the mark of 2505 meters. The capacity will reach 2,500 people per hour. About 11 km of ski slopes of all levels of difficulty will be laid along the cable car.
In the future, the company "North Caucasus Resorts" intends to build the fourth section of the cable car - chairlift, which will deliver tourists to the high level of 2839 meters on the Arcasar Ridge. Another track of more than 2 km will be laid under this section of the lift.
In addition, by the 2017/2018 ski season, a new chairlift will be available in the tourist village of Lunar Meadow, which will be one of the most highly environmentally friendly in Russia. Under it will be laid a ski slope, designed for beginners.
