Vinnitsa,Ukraine, a city and the administrative center of Vinnytsia oblast. The origin of the name is connected with several versions – the town was named from the production of wine products in this city, there's also old Slavic name "veno", meaning gift. These lands were inhabited by ancient settlements of the Scythian tribes. In the thirteenth century the city was part of the Galicia-Volyn Principality. Later, over a hundred years was under the control of the Golden Horde. At the turn of the fourteenth century the city came under the influence of the Lithuanian Principality. At this time begins the construction of fortresses and fortifications in the city. The winery was also mentioned in the national liberation war in the seventeenth century.
