The small resort village of Simeiz, whose webcams can be viewed on this site, is a cozy place on the southern coast of Crimea, which will give an unforgettable vacation among the delightful nature and well-established tourist service.
The town was founded by local businessman N. S. Maltsov and became famous as a resort in the 19th century. The village gained its peak of popularity in the 50s of the last century, when, after the war, the active development of the coast with all kinds of boarding houses and sanatoriums began.
The Mediterranean climate of Simeiz allows you to relax here all year round. In the winter season, you can endlessly wander through the picturesque streets, enjoy the clean air. And in the summer - swim in the clear sea, sunbathe on the beach, relax in various entertainment venues, which are presented here for every taste and budget. There is an observatory near the village, where organized excursions go. It is here that the first tracking station for spacecraft and lunar rovers is located. The first photo of the reverse side of the lunar surface was also taken here.
Once upon a time, various nobles liked to rest in Simeiz. Famous people, representatives of high society and bohemians lived here. They built luxurious mansions and palaces here. Each era in its own way reflected on the appearance of the village.
Local architectural monuments often become a film set for various films.
Villa Ksenia is one of such objects. This building appeared here at the beginning of the last century. It belonged to a local landowner, with whose name many stories and fables were associated. The architectural appearance of the building bizarrely combines elements of Scottish chalets, neo-Gothic and modern buildings. All this turns the villa into a cozy and somewhat mystical castle, with lancet windows and spiers.
Another villa called "Dream" fully corresponds to this word. It is located next to "Ksenia" on a small hill and is considered one of the visiting cards of the resort. The building has Moorish and Arabian features. Rectangular facades are decorated with lancet windows, arcades and stone carvings. The center of the architectural composition is a high tower topped with a dome and resembling a minaret.
The building is surrounded by a luxurious park. The main entrance is decorated with tall cypresses. And the object itself has a mysterious origin story. Until today, only information has reached that the villa was being completed after the October Revolution. And for a long time there was a sanatorium for the military of the Soviet army. After the war, people suffering from tuberculosis began to undergo rehabilitation here. Today the object is abandoned, but invites you to admire its picturesque views from the outside.
For those who do not plan to travel to the southern coast of Crimea yet, Simeiz's webcams will allow you to enjoy charming landscapes from anywhere in the world.
