During the war years, he reoriented from shipbuilding to ensuring the combat capability of the Northern Fleet, as well as repairing foreign ships that called at the port of Severodvinsk. At the same time, the main direction was the creation of nuclear submarines. In 1957, it was renamed Sevmash. The former plant 893 or the Zvezdochka ship repair center is an equally well-known enterprise in Severodvinsk, whose webcams in real time make it possible to enjoy the northernmost White Sea.

The decision to create it was made in 1946. Already in 1954, he received the first orders for the repair and modernization of ships. The plant received its current name in 1966.
Since the 1990s, in addition to repairs, the enterprise has been implementing a comprehensive program for the disposal of nuclear compartments of submarines. Also now ship and civil furniture is made here, diamonds are cut into brilliants. In addition, they develop equipment for space infrastructure.
Both enterprises are currently part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation joint-stock company. At present, it is a city-forming company, due to which Severodvinsk was given the status of a "single-industry city".
