On the anniversary of the death of the poet, a civil memorial service is held at its foot.
On the same mountain Mashuk there is a unique natural monument. This is the Proval cave with an underground lake. This place gained particular popularity after the release of the novel "The Twelve Chairs". After all, it was here, according to the famous plot, that Ostap Bender sold tickets to strengthen the Proval, so that it would not fail too much.
The lake is also unique for its mineral water, which has a turquoise color. You can get here by walking through a 40-meter tunnel, which is illuminated by electric lights. Also, a stone staircase leads to the Failure, overlooking the platform, from where the lake can be seen from above. At the entrance to the karst cave, there are sculptures of lions, as well as a monument to the enterprising character Ilf and Petrov.
By the way, it is worth noting that you can climb Mount Mashuk not only on foot, along special hiking trails, but also by cable car, the length of which reaches almost 1000 m.
