El Médano is located on the two largest natural beaches of Tenerife. The first of them, Playa el Medano, is considered a city beach. It stretches for 1.3 km along the coast and is 40 meters wide, which is enough to comfortably sit on a blanket or a sun lounger. The beach begins near the city blocks and goes into the distance to the extinct volcano Montana Roja ("Red Mountain"). Those who wish to enjoy the benefits of civilization are located within the city limits. Fans of surfing and high waves rest at the foot of the mountain, where an excellent opportunity to "catch" the wind is provided in the open area.
