Construction of the resort complex unfolded on the Sunny Coast on the orders of the Bulgarian government in the middle of the last century, and earlier there was a barren sandy desert covered with dunes with growing pines. In parallel with the construction of the first stage of the resort of 30 hotels and chalets, the dunes planned relief. Half a million tons of fertile soil were brought here, and then more than a million trees and ornamental shrubs and tens of thousands of roses were planted. The first holiday season here opened in 1959.
