The history of Simferopol is about 50-60 thousand years old, archaeological finds of settlements in this area have found traces of primitive man's habitation in the Chokurcha cave, which is located on the eastern outskirts of the city. In the cave were found primitive utensils, spearheads hewn from stone, ancient burials. Following the traces left in the cave, historians came to the conclusion that people were attracted here by hunting, which in this valley, rich in game, provided food for the whole family.
The next historical stage of Simferopol, this area was the Taurus, who lived here in the ninth century BC, in the north of the city were found burial mounds, traces of a parking lot and items of the hearth.
In the third century BC, the capital of the Scythian state, Naples-Scythian, appeared in the south of the city, this name came to us from the Greeks, and the Scythian name was unfortunately lost in history. The city spread over an area of about 20 hectares, the population of the city was about 2500 people. The Scythians move to a sedentary lifestyle, cattle breeding and agriculture become the main crafts, but military science is not forgotten either, there are frequent references to this among the Greeks. In 275, the Goths invaded the Crimea, who destroyed this city, like almost the entire coast of the Crimea.
The next stage in the development of the city was the small Greek settlement of Kermenchik. Until the 16th century, it practically existed without changes, and in the 16th century there is a mention of the city of Ak-Mechet, not far from Kermenchik.
The year 1871 was marked by a new miracle, the first train in its history came to the city by rail. The railway connected Crimea with the mainland of the Russian Empire. With the advent of the railway, industry, banks and financial institutions began to develop in the city. In 1914, a tram and electrification of the city appeared in the city. The history of the city of Simferopol survived a revolution, occupation, liberation of the city from the Nazis, all this tempered the cities, brought it to its present state, making it the main artery of Crimea.
