The Krasnoe Selo webcam opens one of the angles of the intersection between Lenin and Grazhdanskaya streets.
The lens is aimed at the pedestrian crossing and the adjoining part of the road. Fragments of sidewalks are visible in the foreground and background. The broadcast is transmitted in real time.
Krasnoye Selo, whose webcams can be viewed online on this site, is almost completely included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Here you can find many architectural monuments, a special place among which is occupied by temples.
The glory of the summer military capital was reflected not only in the way of life and appearance of the city, but also in its places of worship, which are to some extent connected with the Russian army and human rights activists.
The main temple of Krasnoe Selo is the Cathedral in the name of the Life-Giving Trinity.
It was built in the first half of the 18th century, in a magnificent baroque style, at the expense of Empress Anna Ioannovna. And, despite the difficult fate, the oblivion of the Soviet period and the destruction that the wars brought, the shrine has survived to this day and continues to perform its functions today. Now the temple is considered the center of the military deanery.
Another stunning church in Krasnoe Selo was built entirely of wood in the second half of the 19th century. Initially, the temple was built at the local military hospital, illuminating it in honor of Alexander Nevsky. And its history, just like the Trinity Cathedral, has many dark pages. With the advent of Soviet power, the building was closed and used as a utility room. During the German occupation, services were resumed here. And, despite the active hostilities, the temple miraculously survived. After the victory, the object was handed over to the faithful, who renovated it with charitable donations. Since 1946, the Alexander Nevsky Church has not stopped worship. Within the walls of this temple there are many shrines, including ancient icons, as well as the miraculous face of St. Simeon the God-Receiver.
A small temple of the Archangel Michael, made of wooden logs, has a charming appearance.
It was built at the beginning of the last century on the site of a dilapidated temple that had stood here since 1774. Wars and Bolshevik persecutions did not lead to the loss of the shrine. And today, as before, services are held here. And the picturesque forest area, coniferous trees surrounding the building, give this place the atmosphere of a Russian fairy tale.
The chapel of Queen Tamara has a beautiful and original appearance. It was built at the beginning of the 19th century in the style of a Russian tower, with carved elements and a beautifully decorated porch. In the 20th century, the city mortuary was cynically located within the walls of the shrine. But after the collapse of the USSR, the object was given the status of an architectural monument and its former purpose was returned. Today the object is a regimental temple of the St. Petersburg OMON unit, which donated funds for restoration.
Another old chapel worthy of attention is located at the entrance to Krasnoye Selo from St. Petersburg. The appearance of the temple is associated with an amazing story that tells that in 1800, at the place where it was subsequently decided to build a temple, a holy spring and the face of the righteous Simeon the God-Receiver appeared, in whose honor the shrine was named.
For those who cannot yet visit these places in person, Krasnoe Selo webcams will allow you to expand your horizons and have fun.
