At that time, Dukhobor sectarians from the Tambov and Voronezh provinces were forcibly resettled here. The founder of the settlement is considered a certain Kirill Kapustin, who fooled him with his name.
Thirty years after the founding of the village, 130 people lived in it. But soon, by order of representatives of the local clergy, the inhabitants left these places and were resettled to the Caucasus.
In 1864, representatives of the Azov Cossacks, who guarded these territories during the Crimean War, as well as fugitives and former serfs, lived in Kirillovka.
Local residents were mainly engaged in agriculture. The flourishing in the history of the village is considered 1890, when the local peasant F. Nalivaiko sent samples of mud from local estuaries to the provincial doctors, who revealed their healing properties. Subsequently, Nalivaiko founded a mud baths on the banks of the Molochny estuary. But the first officially registered balneological institutions appeared only in the XX century.
The mild seaside-steppe climate and the unique geographical location of the village determine warm weather almost all year round. In the winter months, thermometers rarely drop below 6 degrees below zero. The number of sunny days per year on the Azov coast reaches more than 280. And the weather in Kirillovka is characterized by a small amount of precipitation.

The maximum elevation reaches 14 m. The bottom in the sea is sandy and gentle, which ensures comfortable and safe swimming without the risk of hypothermia, both for children and adults.
The swimming season in Kirillovka begins in spring, about 1 month earlier than the same period on the Black Sea coast. Due to the shallow depth, coastal waters warm up very early.
