Kiev. Orthodox monastery, founded in the sixties of the XIX century. By the beginning of XX century, the monastery consisted of more than 800 novices and monks. After the construction of the Botanical garden of Academy of Sciences of the USSR in its territory consisted of the names of the Holy Trinity ioninsky monastery. In 1991, the monastery was again transferred to the Orthodox Church. Since the beginning 2000go year, began restoration work, and restoration of the main temple of the monastery. Was rebuilt and renewed brethren's buildings, bell tower, clock tower, and Holy Trinity Church. Since 1997, the brethren and servants of the ioninsky monastery taken to restore the cave of the catacombs and the temple zverinetskoe monastery. Since 2009, Zvirynetsky monastery, seceded and became an independent monastery.
