In the 20th century, Kirzhach became infamous throughout the country. After all, it was here that the MIG-15 crashed, which led to the death of the world's first cosmonaut Y. Gagarin, as well as his colleague V. Seregin. At the site of a giant funnel formed as a result of the disaster, today a memorial has been erected. It is a 16-meter obelisk with carved profiles of astronauts, at the foot of which a funnel has fallen, framed by black labrdarite.

The scale of the architectural composition is given by the square layout of the temple, inside which a semicircular altar is installed.

Next to the church is the grave of the merchant Solovyov, whose sons erected a shrine and dedicated it to their father. In Soviet times, a bakery was located in the temple. On the eve of the collapse of the USSR, the shrine was returned to the parishioners. Today, the church is closed and restoration work is underway. Its construction began in the middle of the 17th century. The temple was erected by the local boyar Miloslavsky. His children died in infancy, so the Miloslavsky family was interrupted.
