Live webcams Kirzhach online - landscapes of Russian cities
Kirzhach webcams, which you can watch online on this site, allow you to plunge into the atmosphere of this small town in the Vladimir region, which is completely unfairly deprived of the attention of tourists.
Kirzhach is located on the banks of the river of the same name and does not have a huge number of attractions in its arsenal. Nevertheless, there is something to look at for the inquisitive eye of the traveler, and beautiful natural locations will make the rest memorable and varied.
You can start your acquaintance with the Kirzhachsky Regional Museum of Local Lore and Art, which has combined in its old building many unique artifacts that tell about the times of the city's foundation, the life and culture of local residents.
The most valuable collection of Y. Gagarin's letters to his mother, as well as books written by the cosmonaut and his colleagues, are also kept here. It will be interesting to look at the samples of products that the conquerors of space ate, their equipment, as well as periodicals dedicated to the achievement of domestic cosmonautics.
A magnificent monument of religious architecture is the Holy Annunciation Convent.
Before the Soviets came to power, it was male, but after the Revolution it fell into disrepair. During the Great Patriotic War, ammunition was stored here. After the collapse of the USSR, the monastery was going to be restored precisely as a male monastery, but the archbishops of Vladimir and Suzdal ordered otherwise. In 1995, the restored object opened its doors as a nunnery.
There are two temples on the territory of the monastery - upper and lower. The atmosphere of silence and tranquility reigns in the territory. From the beginning of the 21st century, readings of spiritual and local history literature began to be held here. It is also planned to create an illustrated collection of religious poetry for children within the walls of the monastery.
In the 20th century, Kirzhach became infamous throughout the country. After all, it was here that the MIG-15 crashed, which led to the death of the world's first cosmonaut Y. Gagarin, as well as his colleague V. Seregin. At the site of a giant funnel formed as a result of the disaster, today a memorial has been erected. It is a 16-meter obelisk with carved profiles of astronauts, at the foot of which a funnel has fallen, framed by black labrdarite.
Next to the memorial is a small museum that contains the personal belongings of the victims, as well as children's drawings and other artifacts on the theme of space exploration. Also on the territory of the memorial there is an exact copy of the same MIG-15.
Another monument of religious architecture in Kirzhach whose webcams can be viewed online on this page is St. Nicholas Cathedral.
It is located outside the city, in the village of Selivanova, which belongs to the urban district of Kirzhach and lies just 1 km from it. The temple was built on a hill and has its chronicle since the 17th century. Once the village belonged to the Blagoveshchensk monastery, and the temple was built of wood. The building that can be seen today was rebuilt from stone in the 18th century at the expense of local parishioners and the Moscow merchant Tit Petrov. A century later, a four-tiered bell tower was built next to the cathedral. Unfortunately, the temple did not escape the fate of many religious buildings during the period of Soviet rule. Restoration of the shrine is carried out to this day.
The Church of All Saints, which was built in the second half of the 19th century according to the project of N. A. Artleben, has a unique appearance. The object consists of a large single-domed temple and a multi-tiered bell tower. The scale of the architectural composition is given by the square layout of the temple, inside which a semicircular altar is installed.
Next to the church is the grave of the merchant Solovyov, whose sons erected a shrine and dedicated it to their father. In Soviet times, a bakery was located in the temple. On the eve of the collapse of the USSR, the shrine was returned to the parishioners. Today, the church is closed and restoration work is underway. But soon the temple will appear before the faithful in its majestic and renewed appearance.
The Church of the All-Merciful Savior in Kirzhach has an interesting architecture.
Its construction began in the middle of the 17th century. The temple was erected by the local boyar Miloslavsky. His children died in infancy, so the Miloslavsky family was interrupted. The tomb of this family is located near the temple. It consists of 15 burials with tombstones richly decorated with artistic carvings.
It affects not only the external appearance, but also the interior of the temple. A gilded iconostasis is installed in the room, including 74 images, some of which were created by the famous icon painter Simon Ushakov in the 17th century.
The Church of the All-Merciful Savior, built in the true Russian style, is considered one of the most beautiful places of worship in the entire Vladimir region. For those who cannot yet see the local beauty with their own eyes, Kirzhach webcams, which can be viewed online in real time, will slightly open the treasury of its beauties and attractions.
