The Ala-Too square is the Central square of Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyzstan. Along its perimeter are located the State Historical Museum, the monument of Friendship of peoples in Oak Park with the Museum of sculptures under the open sky and the Church of St. Nicholas, the oldest building in the city. From 1984 to 2003 the square was a statue of Lenin, which was moved to the Old square, and in its place put a sculpture of a winged woman "Erkindik", symbolizing freedom.
