The seal nursery "Zeehondencrche Pieterburen" — research center for rehabilitation and breeding seals. Is Pieterburen, the village community De-Marne in the North of the Netherlands in the province Groningen.
The nursery was based off that pet shop Dame L. HART and her colleagues. Initially, there were kept weak and sick seals found in the Wadden sea. The centre rescues seals, the wounded ship and boat propellers or fishing nets and those that have suffered because of pollution. The centre also rescues baby seal orphans. All seals after the rehabilitation period, which lasts from several weeks to six months, released into the wild. Online the camera shows the pool which contain a strong seal prior to release into the wild. The center has also collected in adjacent waters pieces of fishing nets that float in the sea and can injure animals.
Later animals in the kennel began to breed specifically. Today it is home to around 1750 seals, including individuals who have been saved by treatment in the nursery.
Here is the exhibition center Badezentrum and with it help Desk for tourists wishing to explore the lowlands in the vicinity of the Wadden sea.
