The Church of Saints Cosmas and Damian, or Market Church (Marktkirche St. Message types Cosmas und Damian) – Lutheran-Evangelical Church and the main parish Church located in the centre of the historic German town of Goslar. Patrons of the temple are the brothers Cosmas and Damian - saints-disinterested, miracle workers and healers, who lived, presumably in the late III – early IV centuries. The Church of Saints Cosmas and Damian is located in the historic centre of Goslar is one of the main temples in the city. The first mention of the Church on the Market square of Goslar date back to 1151. The current building was erected in the centre of the city on the site of an early Romanesque three-nave Basilica. The Church of Saints Cosmas and Damian, its two towers – North (height 66 m) and South (height of 65.4 m) is visible from anywhere in Goslar. One of the bells, cast in 1848, weighing 6.8 tons and a diameter of 2.21 m, is the second largest Church bell in Lower Saxony.
Stained glass Windows of the Church on the Market square of Goslar is made based on the scenes from the life of the patron saints of the Church – brothers Cosmas and Damian. Stained glass Church created, presumably in the 1250-ies, to date, are the oldest preserved mosaic images of scenes from the two Holy brothers.
The Church organ was created in 1970, the organ maker Karl chouquet (Karl Schuke). In 2012, the instrument was reconstructed to 58 registers masters of the company Hartwig und Tilmann Späth (Freiburg).
In the Church of Saints Cosmas and Damian Goslar preserved a priceless relic – a bronze baptismal font Dating from 1573, and a wooden altar created in 1659.
