Sterlitamak, whose webcams can be viewed online on this site, is able to please with an abundance of attractions that are located not only within the city, but also in its environs.
One of the iconic natural objects are the Sterlitamak shikhans and caves. Along the right bank of the Belaya River, a string of single cone-shaped hills stretched, which were formed from the ancient coral reefs of the Ural paleoocean. Their age reaches more than 260 million years. And from their peaks today stunning views open up.
On one of the shikhans called Tratau there is a base for hang gliders. And on the largest of them - Kushtau - there is a ski resort that will please the traveler with five slopes, ski lifts and the opportunity to ski in the evening.
In the warm season, mountain bikes, skateboards and many other sports equipment for outdoor activities are rented on the hill. Hiking excursions to karst caves are also organized here, in one of which (Kapova) drawings of ancient people were found.
Ishcheevsky caves are a whole system of natural underground labyrinths that go to a depth of 26 meters and are more than a kilometer long. These caves are more than 400 thousand years old.
Along with natural locations, there are many man-made monuments in Sterlitamak.
For example, an old merchant's mansion, built at the beginning of the 20th century, rises on K. Marx Street, which is a stunning example of wooden architecture with skillful decor. Once upon a time, the famous children's writer of the Soviet period, Arkady Petrovich Gaidar, stayed in this house. That is why the architectural monument has the unofficial name "Gaidar's House".
Another stunning architectural monument is the building of the Zemstvo Council. This building, stunning in its appearance, was put into operation in the pre-revolutionary period. After the victory of the Bolsheviks, the building was reclassified as the House of Political Education and the House of Labor. Today, the Department of Social Security is located here.
For those who have not yet been able to visit these places in person, it is recommended to watch Sterlitamak's webcams online.
