Sarasota,USAis a city located on the southwest coast of Florida . The area is famous for its cultural and environmental amenities , beaches , resorts. Currently, the official site of the city includes Sarasota Bay and several barrier Islands between the Gulf of Mexico and the harbour. According to the U.S. census, in 2012, Sarasota was built in 52211 residents. In 1986, the city received a certified local government. Sarasota is a principal city of the Bradenton area of Florida. The Islands separating Sarasota Bay from the Gulf near the city known as the Key, include Lido Key and Siesta Key , which are famous worldwide for the quality of its sandy beaches. Longboat Key is one of the largest peninsulas separating the harbour from the Gulf of Mexico, but currently its main part is separated in 1921 which goes to the city. The first Europeans explored the area in the early sixteenth century. The first entry to this land was in 1513 , when the Spanish expedition arrived in Charlotte Harbor. As defined on maps in the eighteenth century the city of Zara Zote , perhaps, was the name of the modern city of Sarasota. Protected Harbor served as a port for sailors and merchants.
