Mojacar, whose webcams can be viewed online on this site, is located in the province of Almeria (Spain), 90 km from its center

Despite the fact that this is a village, the views here are amazing with their beauty. Traditional Andalusian houses with snow-white facades are built here, which rise along the mountain slopes. And around the endless sea stretches.
The population of Mojacar, whose webcams can be viewed in real time, is now about 6,300 inhabitants. Most of the townspeople live near Mojacar Playa. At the same time, despite its small population, Mojacar has the highest GDP in all of Andalusia, reaching 90 thousand euros in 12 months.

Mojacar was once inhabited by a wide variety of tribes

Man has lived on these lands since the Bronze Age. Since the II millennium BC, Phoenicians and Carthaginians lived here. Later, these lands were chosen by the Greeks, who called them Murgis-Acre. It was from this toponym that the modern name of the settlement later arose.
Mojacar achieved intensive growth during the appearance of the North African Moors in Spain (VIII century AD). At this time, the lands were ruled by representatives of the Damascus Caliph, and later by the Umayyads of Cordoba.
After the king of Granada ascended the throne, the territory of Mojacar became part of the Granada Emirate, finding itself on the border with the Christian eastern states.

In the XIV century, fortifications were built and strengthened here.

However, the onslaught of Christians was stronger. So, in 1435, as a result of a clash of representatives of different religions, most of the population of Mojacar was killed.
After a little over 50 years, Mojakar became subject to Christian troops. At the same time, a peace treaty was signed between the Moors, Jews and Christians.
Despite its turbulent history, today Mojacar is an interesting resort. Having a small, cozy territory, this settlement is able to amaze many experienced travelers with the beauty of its architecture and excellent climate.

One of the interesting places in Mojakar is the Jewish quarter, where labyrinths of picturesque medieval houses are built along narrow streets.

If you still can't get to Spain, Mojacar webcams, which you can watch online on this site, will allow you to make a fascinating journey to exotic shores.
