Damlataş cave in the center of Alanya, Turkey, at the Western foot of the Peninsula. The name damlataş consists of two words(tour. damla — drop, taş — stone), and is translated with Turkish as "a raw, precious or semi-precious stone" or "stalactite". The cave was discovered in 1948 during the works for the construction of the port. This place was a quarry and after the explosion, made with the purpose of obtaining stone for the construction of the ferry terminal, opened the entrance to the cave. Inside it there were found stalactites and stalagmites of extraordinary beauty. The cave was placed under protection, it began to investigate.
