The construction of a new railway made it possible to shorten the path from Beijing to the world-famous sights (in particular, Badaling) by almost three times. So, instead of 1.5 hours, which took the path passing through the motorway and traffic jams, now you need to spend less than half an hour.

The new station is located a few minutes from the cable car (more precisely, 800 meters from the starting point of the Chinese Wall). There is also an escalator, which ranks second among the longest in the country. It is 88 meters long and 42 meters high.

Due to the fact that the boarding platform is located at a considerable distance from the surface, the gates of the station are closed for ticket holders 12 minutes before the departure of the last train (at other stations in the country this happens 5 minutes before). Such a measure is predetermined specifically to enable passengers to pass through a huge station.

The new Beijing-Zhangjiakou railway runs the state-of-the-art Fuxing high-speed electric train, which was developed by employees of the State Railway Group of the People's Republic of China. The train can reach speeds of up to 350 km/h, which reduces the time between the two cities where the games are held by more than three times.

The composition can automatically start moving and stop, as well as develop speed, according to the restrictions established between stations. At the same time, there is still a driver on board who controls the process.

The train consists of eight carriages with 5G wireless internet, smart lighting and 2,700 sensors that collect real-time data necessary for the smooth operation of the train.
