The city of Ples is located in the north of the Ivanovo region, relatively close to the capital. It stands on the right side of the Volga River and was built in the 12th century. Ples is best known for the fact that the name of the famous artist I. Levitan is inextricably linked with it. It was on the territory of this small and cozy town that Levitan painted his paintings.
