Moving a little north from the hammam and walking along Gotse Delchev Boulevard, you can see the ancient fortress, which was built for defense purposes by the Romans. Later, the building was restored by the Slavs who came to these lands. To this day, archaeological research is being carried out in the settlement, and the local administration plans to open a museum on the territory of the fortress. So far, you can get here for free. But it should be borne in mind that the complex is regularly preserved.
The whole journey along the main attractions will take about 15 minutes. But it is worth taking a couple of hours to explore the surroundings of the old city, which will allow you to feel the flavor and atmosphere of these places. For example, it will be interesting to visit the old bazaar, where you can not only feel the spirit of Macedonia, but also buy a good souvenir.
