The village of Nungwi is located in the northern part of Unguju Island (Tanzania, Zanzibar). It is one of the most densely populated villages on the entire island. As in many localities of this kind in Zanzibar, they are engaged in fishing, and also receive numerous tourists who know that the local beach is the best in the entire archipelago.
Nungwi is characterized by an almost complete absence of ebb tides. At least in some places the water does not recede as far as in the rest of the island.
In addition to the magnificent beach, there is an old lighthouse in Nungwi, a shipyard where fishing boats are produced and repaired.
At the local fish market, you can always stock up on seafood freshly caught in the morning. And around the village, on the very coast with white sand, there are numerous hotels.
The ocean in the Nungwi area is calm, transparent and warm. At the lighthouse, in addition to the structure itself, you can admire dozens of sailing boats. And on the local beach, you can see the world's most beautiful sea stars.
Nungwi Beach is located 2 km from another popular resort - Kendwa, which also has a white sandy beach with clear ocean water.
A popular activity in Nungwi is watching the sunsets, which are incredible in this part of the world. In addition to the beach, you can enjoy beautiful views while having dinner in one of the cozy restaurants.
Nungwi beach itself has everything you need for a comfortable stay. There are catering establishments and shops nearby.
It is noteworthy that in all the restaurants in Nungwi you can taste dishes made from fish supplied by local fishermen every morning. At the same time, despite the high quality of the products, the local prices will pleasantly please those who like to spend money wisely.
There is also local fast food in Nungwi. One of the popular dishes is fried meat in onion batter. This place can be visited after sunset in the very heart of the village, near the roundabout.
Among the entertainment in Nungwi, it is worth noting ocean fishing, for which anglers from all over the world come here. Here you can also go paddle boarding, or ride a water scooter.
Fans of tranquil promenades will also have a place to stroll here. The romance of this place just rolls over, and the stunning views will allow you to take unique photos.
